Sock Project

This is the first concept art piece i did for the project. I was heavily inspired by Cat City for this piece, and i love the colours and sharp style!
Cat city - Vewn | Cat city, Vincent art, City cartoon
Cat City - Vewn | Art, Concept art characters, Art inspiration
Cat City - Vewn | Koi art, Cat city, Cool art
These are some screen shots from Cat City by Vewn. This is a short animation on you tube and i absolutely adored the style. I thought it would bring a really cool style to the sock world with the pastel colours and sharp imperfect lines.
A little sketch of Button screaming in the scary sock world. I love the emotion in this piece.
This was the first concept art i did for the scary sock world.
I was placing a face on random parts of a sock to see which area looked the best.
we had originally decided on this design because it looked like a kid wearing a cap, and we wanted button to have a innocent design. We changed our minds quickly when our professor Alec pointed out that it looked like a condom! hahaha
we then decided on this sketch i had done of button to be the one we would go off of moving forward, because with the face on this location the characters would constantly keep that sock look to them! I was also playing around with how the socks would move about as you can see button is about to jump on the top!
i then did these two sketched of button and patch and the group decided that this was the design we would keep as the final designs!
This was the final colour design for both the socks. i went with a bright pastel colour scheme to have this be contrasted with the dark colourless spooky sock world! really love with how these turned out. I cant wait to start animating them!
Here i was just seeing how the socks would look in the room, Love the pinky purple colours. I think the room shape is overly complicated however!

Here i was just framing the room shot!

Overall im over the moon with how my concepts have turned out! I think I’ve really realized the teams ideas down on paper so we can take inspiration from these for the final animation.
